We have a new resident in our bedroom....

Well, we decided last night that maybe Anne Pearce just needs to be closer to us at night. SO, we moved her crib and put it right beside my side of the bed with the rail down. Last night was SO much better. She did wake up whining several times, but I just gave her a little pat, and back to sleep she went. We were up at 5:30 for a bottle, and then she slept until 10:00. Mommy did too. I love having her in there with us.....It's just what she needs right now. Carolyn sent me the sweetest email supporting us. Thank you, Carolyn! You rock!!!!!! I hope that each night just gets better and better. I don't think she's actually waking up all the way at night....she just kinds of whines in her sleep. I wonder if she's having baby nightmares?????

I don't know why I didn't think to tell you that!!! We had Alex in our room (in his crib) when we brought him home. (It was mostly because I didn't want to have to walk up and down the stairs at night!!)

It really worked well for us. When he woke up (which really wasn't much for us) it was easy to get him back to sleep.

Alex also will half wake up whimpering. I think he's having bad dreams.

Our plan was to move him up to his room by Christmas (we brought him home mid-October). Needless to say, we moved him about a month ago. :) He transitioned really well!!!

I hope it continues to work for you!! Sleep is a wonderful thing.

Congratulations on sleep!!! Sounds like the perfect solution - she has her mama right next to her, and mama gets some much needed rest. She has the whole rest of her life to sleep in her own room. It makes perfect sense that she would want to be close to you right now. Enjoy your sleep - and enjoy your beautiful Anne Pearce!

I just might have to copy your idea. Although, there is NO WAY Bella's crib would fit next to my bed...you've seen the pics. I might have to get one of those co-sleepers. I don't know. Bella wakes up several times a night whimpering too. Hope tonight goes just as well for you as last night...even better!

How come you haven't called me back yet?!!!

Lou -- That is exactly how Cohen is sleeping right now... with his crib pushed against our bed. It is so nice to just pat them back to sleep, isn't it? Not sure if that set-up is going to work when we get home though...

AP is just as cute as ever!!! :)

OOOOH LOU!!!!!!!! You are the BEST MOMMA IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When we first got home Sophie slept with me for eight weeks--(my hubby counted it down!!! ;O) She would wake up too during the night and see me and go right back to sleep--I really believed it helped a lot for me to be sleeping right beside her! She has always been a great sleeper but at night she did the same thing it sounds like Anne Pearce is doing waking up just to see if you are still there--it breaks my heart to type that! But I am soo glad she is sleeping with you!!!!!! --When we finally did put her in her room she went right away but it was like she needed that time to know I was there--I hope this makes sense!!!

I think the best motto when it comes to sleep is just "do what you gotta' do!!" Looks like that is working for everyone. You all have your space so you can sleep comfortably and AP knows that you are right there and can sleep more peacefully, too. I pray the sleeping goes much better tonight and hey, if she's still doing this when Luke arrives, we'll just take turns!! =)
we miss you guys lately!!

I am so glad you will get some sleep now. She looks so cute in her crib. I just noticed that my blog is not on your side bar. I guess I am just not cool enough.

Finally got a chance to look at blogs! We are SO in the same boat with sleeping. I wish we could do the same and move the crib into our room, but no go. As for baby nightmares, I think mine is having them ... pretty sure he is. Sometimes he wakes up screaming from being dead asleep. I hope AP is liking her new sleeping arrangement!!!

GOOD STUFF! :0) I think that is great. I say when everyone is getting a great night's sleep that is a good thing. We part time co-slept for a long time. KK would go down to bed in her room. Then when we were going to sleep we would bring her into our room. I loved that because we got "alone" time but I still got the cuddles with KK. She would also sleep SOOO much later when she was curled up with mama. Amen to THAT! Now Kaitlyn sleeps in her bed but when Russ leaves for work he usually puts her in bed with me. It's the coolest. I love that special time. Too quickly they are "too big" for that. :0) Although Zoe will still cuddle on the couch any old day! Angel

Guess AP just needs to know that Mommy is still there. Hope this works well.
